A message from Ray Comfort - The Alarm of Conscience

The moment we are saved we find that the world, the flesh and the devil plague us.  The appetite of the flesh was once satisfied with the pleasures of sin, but upon conversion, it is starved and begins to gnaw at the mind for want of food.  It causes what the Scriptures call a "war in (our ) members".  Thoughts, which once were acceptable, suddenly stir the alarm of conscience, and that alarm of conscience is there as a warning of the fires of Hell.  It's a smoke detector that alarms us because we are new creatures in Christ Jesus.  Old things have passed away, and all things have become new.  The old sinful nature, like four days dead Lazarus, now stinks because it is dead in Christ.  So, bury it, and live to do the will of the God who called you out of darkness into light.
